Born in 1964 in England, Digweed began shooting before he was a teenager. His grandfather gave him a .410 shotgun at the start, and soon his competitive attitude drove him to begin shooting competitively. His first memorable victory was the Home International Skeet Championships in 1986 at Melton Mowbray Gun Club.

He is the first to shoot ‘100 straight’ in a World Championship, and in October 2011, while being filmed for Fieldsports Channel TV, he broke a clay at 130 yards, shattering his previous record of 118 yards.

In 2009, Digweed won his 16th World Championship in Texas, USA, at an event to crown the world’s best all-around shooter. That same year he won the World Sporting Championship, the European Championship, the Mitsubishi World Series, the Pan African, and the Italian Grand Prix.

In April 2022, he became the first to win a world title in five decades (the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s 2010s, and 2020s) when he won the World Sporting Championship. Besides his 30 world titles (16 Sporting, 12 FITASC, and two Compak), he has won 19 European titles (15 FITASC and four Compak), and 12 world cups.

He and his wife, Kate, run a commercial shoot at Owley Farm, Wittersham, Kent.
