What are the Best Clay Target Shotguns?
The best shotguns for clays are the ones that suit you and suit your budget. If you’re starting to learn how to shoot clays, go out and get the best you can for your budget. The better the gun, the better you’re going to be because the balance and everything of the gun will be far, far better than a lesser gun.
Still, almost any gun will be far more accurate than we ever will be. A gun that suits your budget is without question the gun you need for sporting.
We are lucky to have many outstanding choices on the market today. On the low end, Beretta’s autoloaders are real bargains, as are Beretta’s 686 and 687 over/unders and Browning’s Citori. In the UK, Miroku sells very nice shotguns made under the Browning design in the same factory as the Citori.
Beretta also offers the 694 as a mid-priced gun, and Caesar Guerini has won a fair market share over the past few decades. The base model Blasers also fit into this category.
I personally feel that there is no finer gun than Perazzi for the clay target shot, but Krieghoff and Beretta also make outstanding higher-end guns that give their owners great service and deep pleasure. You can’t ask for more than that.
