How Much Does it Cost to Shoot Clay Targets?
Clay target shooting costs as much or as little as you’re prepared to put into it. It’s not a cheap sport, but nothing is nowadays. The price of a gun and cartridges are relative to your own budget, and if you buy your own clay target thrower, you can practice for relatively little money – $100 or so will get you a serviceable manual machine, and you can get a box of 90 clay targets for less than $15.
Going to an actual shooting ground will cost more, but some grounds are less expensive than others. For example, clubs in the U.S. charge anywhere from 40 cents to 60 cents per target. In the UK, prices range from about 35p to 50p per target. Clubs that offer memberships often give members discounted rates.
Enjoy the sport for what it is and do as much as your budget will allow.
